About Zunaira
My name is Zunaira, I am currently studying chemistry & pharmacology at UoA. I graduated from Macleans College with an A* in Cambridge AS/A Level Chemistry, A in both AS/A Level Mathematics & Biology. (A* in IGCSE Math/Chemistry/Comp Sci, A in IGCSE Physics, A in Biology at Macleans)
I am an experienced tutor (learn more below) with a passion for teaching. I tutor because of the personal struggles I faced in high school. My understanding was unclear, and I used to study like my friends, not realizing my learning needs were different. Once I figured out how to study based on my individual needs and sought specific help, I set targeted goals to overcome my shortcomings. This transformation took me from barely passing chemistry to consistently achieving top grades (90%).
I started tutoring others in school and discovered a passion for it. Helping others understand concepts I once struggled with is a rewarding experience, and my personal journey gives me valuable insight into the challenges students face and how to overcome them.

3.5 years of tutoring experience as an in-school senior tutor, private one-on-one tutor and work experience at Kip McGrath. Preference for tutoring is Y11-Y13, specifically IGCSE Chemistry, AS Math, and AS/A level Chemistry and Biology. I can also tutor IGCSE Biology/Math if needed. I achieved all A*/A's in my Cambridge A Level exams.
Typically conduct 1-2hr lessons. My usual teaching approach is explaining the theory very clearly and simply to the student, followed by practice problems solved by me accompanied with detailed explanation of the approach/methods, so that the student can learn how to answer questions and tackle problems. I assign more questions and practice problems as home work, and go over mistakes/improvements in the next lesson.
My teaching methods are very flexible, so they differ based on the student's level/knowledge.
