He was also an active member of my extracurricular Classics group, learning about the history, politics and literature of Ancient Greece and Rome, in addition to learning some elementary Greek and Latin. Here Milan’s passion for philosophizing was a real asset, as he built up a firm foundation of understanding about epic poetry, Athenian democracy and the plays of Aeschylus and Aristophanes.
