About Maria del Pilar
I’m born and raised in Mexico and learned English all by myself! How? Well I started singing and rewriting english songs and watching movies/tv shows and writing down almost every phrase or word I didn’t know. Then I started to copy the pronunciation and repeated phrases and sentences in front of the mirror. Funny enough I didn’t know I was immersing myself in the language and surely but slowly started to adquiere it.

My favorite method is: Immersion
1. Speak the language whenever you can. Speaking and practicing the pronunciation is very important in order to become fluent in any language. ( I’ll teach you how)
2. Read a book or the news and watch movies in Spanish.
3. Immerse yourself in a Spanish speaking culture and talk (meet up) with Spanish speakers.
4. Listen to Spanish speaking podcasts or even better, watch Mexican telenovelas.
5. Don't practice in isolation; get feedback from native speakers.
6. And last but not least: Don't worry about making mistakes. Learn from them.

Perfect! María is great! She recently helped me prepare for an interview in Spanish after a lot of time not speaking it. She is dedicated, encouraging, patient and kind.
