I understand the problem areas the student needs help with. From this I set a work pattern, read through notes, 1 tutorial with answers UNDERSTANDING and making notes whilst carrying out question. Whilst continuing with the notes, redo tutorial a few days later with no notes and if you dont get it perfect, redo redo redo until you can UNDERSTAND and do the questions. And then lots of cheat sheets and past papers.
