Supporting and Living With a Loved One's Chemical Dependency How to Be Supportive Without Being Enabling

I worked with Sal at the Cradle of Liberty Boy Scouts of America. I was always impressed by his thoughtful and caring attitude, his love of serving others and his cheerful upbeat disposition. He was always wonderful with the kids at the BSA. I would trust him in a heartbeat to mentor, teach, and oversee children of any age. He’s the kind of person I would have loved to have as a teacher when I was growing up. Knowledgeable and knows how to relate to kids of all ages.

I have known Salvatore since 1987 and regard him in the highest possible terms. I came from England to work for him in New York at a Family Camping Facility he used to run upstate and I continued to work for him over six summers. Our families have visited each other over the years and we remain great friends. Salvatore is a natural teacher with a lifetime of experience with people of all ages and a variety of backgrounds. He is extremely well read and has an intelligence and insight that sweeps away the extraneous and gets to the heart of the matter with ease. He does this with humor, warmth and a humanity that I have learned from and try to emulate in my own teaching. I recommend Salvatore as a listener, adviser and as someone who will contribute to the quality of your thoughts and actions.

Salvatore and I were friends from childhood and still are (more than 70 years). He is the teacher/professor I wish I had had any time along the way in my education. He is interesting, funny, erudite, and has great communications skills.
