About Don
Hello! I’m a dedicated and approachable Secondary Maths Teacher with experience teaching students from Year 5 through to Year 12. I currently teach in a secondary school, which means I work daily with the KS3 and KS4 curriculum and understand exactly what students need to succeed in their Maths lessons and GCSE exams.
I believe that confidence is the foundation of good learning. My teaching style is calm, patient, and focused on breaking topics down into clear, manageable steps. I aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building real understanding. Every lesson is tailored to the individual, whether they need help filling gaps, improving exam technique, or pushing for higher grades.
Before becoming a teacher, I worked for 11 years in the pharmaceutical industry, giving me a strong real-world perspective on how Maths is used beyond the classroom. I use this experience to make lessons meaningful and show students the value of what they’re learning.
Above all, I’m committed to helping every student grow in confidence, develop strong skills, and feel proud of their progress. Whether you’re aiming for steady improvement or striving for top GCSE grades, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

I’m a supportive and approachable Maths teacher with experience teaching Years 5–12, currently working in a secondary school and fully familiar with the KS3 and GCSE curriculum.
I break Maths down into simple, clear steps, use real-world examples, and make sure you understand each topic before moving on.
Lessons include exam strategies, past-paper practice, problem-solving methods, and plenty of encouragement to help you build confidence.
I offer KS2, KS3 and KS4 lessons (including SATs support and full GCSE preparation) and tailor every session to the student’s pace and learning style.
Typical lessons are 60 minutes (45 minutes for younger students and up to 90 minutes for GCSE revision).
Alongside teaching, I bring 11 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, helping students see how Maths links to real life.
Based in Prescot / Whiston, I welcome learners of all abilities—whether you want to boost confidence, fill knowledge gaps, or push for higher grades
