About Nicole

I am a qualified primary teacher with a Master's in Education and over eight years of teaching experience, including four years of online tutoring. My teaching journey has taken me from classrooms in Ireland and the UK to volunteer teaching in Cambodia, as well as working with learners in Spain, Germany, and other parts of Europe. These international experiences have shaped my understanding of different learning cultures and confidence barriers when it comes to speaking English. I believe in a kind, gentle teaching style that removes pressure and creates a calm space where students feel safe to speak, make mistakes, and learn at their own pace. Helping learners feel encouraged, supported, and proud of their progress is at the heart of how I teach.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed to help learners feel comfortable, supported and confident using English in real life. Many students feel nervous speaking a new language, so I begin each session with a relaxed check-in or simple conversation activity to remove pressure and build trust.

As a qualified teacher, I adapt every lesson to the learner’s pace and personality. A typical lesson with me includes:

A gentle warm-up to build confidence in speaking

Interactive activities based on real communication (stories, role-play, visuals, everyday scenarios)

Kind correction and encouragement, never overwhelming feedback

Small achievable goals so learners can clearly see their progress

I believe that confidence comes before fluency, so my teaching focuses on celebrating small wins, building self-belief, and making English feel enjoyable rather than stressful. I use creative tools like photography prompts, simple storytelling and culture-based conversation to make each class feel personal and engaging.
