About Greta
I hold a Bachelor of Music in Violin Studies and a Master of Music in String Pedagogy. Over the past 8 years, I have guided students through a wide range of musical goals, from building foundational skills to preparing for performances. My love for violin developed through years of study, ensemble participation, and solo performance experiences. Teaching allows me to share that passion while helping learners build confidence and skill. Watching students grow as musicians remains one of the most rewarding aspects of my profession.
My teaching philosophy centers on encouragement, adaptability, and thoughtful instruction. I believe students learn best when they feel supported and understood. Lessons are structured to provide clear progress while remaining flexible enough to address individual challenges and goals. Students receive practical guidance that helps them develop both technical ability and musical understanding. This creates an environment where learning feels approachable and rewarding.
Outside teaching, I enjoy chamber music, score analysis, and exploring violin repertoire from different musical periods. These interests enrich my lessons and help keep learning engaging. Seeing students achieve meaningful milestones is deeply fulfilling. I strive to create lessons that are motivating, supportive, and effective. My goal is to help learners build a lifelong appreciation for music and violin playing.

My violin lessons are designed to help students develop strong fundamentals while enjoying a positive and encouraging learning experience. Learners focus on bow control, posture, intonation accuracy, tone production, rhythm development, and expressive phrasing through carefully planned exercises and musical activities. I emphasize understanding the purpose behind every technique so that practice feels meaningful and effective. This approach helps students connect technical development with artistic expression. Learning becomes both productive and rewarding.
Lessons are tailored to the unique needs of each student. Learners returning after a break receive patient support through tone rebuilding exercises, open-string practice, confidence restoration activities, and gradual technical review. Students also work on performance memory, listening skills, scale development, and musical interpretation. Regular feedback helps learners recognize progress and overcome challenges with confidence. This supportive structure encourages consistent improvement and long-term success.
My goal is to help students feel comfortable and capable whenever they play. As confidence grows, learners become more willing to explore new repertoire and musical opportunities. Lessons encourage patience, resilience, and self-belief. Every accomplishment contributes to stronger musicianship and personal growth. I want students to feel inspired by their progress and excited about future achievements.
