About Edwin

Hi there! My name is Edwin and I am a LTA Level 3 tennis coach based in Reading (Purley on Thames Tennis Club). I have a background in competing at the highest level, representing Berkshire at County Cups, and was President of the University of Surrey Tennis Club and Men's 1st Team Captain in the BUCS scene, alongside doing a degree in Chemical Engineering. During my tenure at University, I regularly volunteered to run social and development team sessions, fitness sessions as well as performance team practices. I also gave 1 to 1 lessons to players of all abilities, and acted as a hitting partner for performance players (if that's what they wanted of course!) I now enjoy teaching tennis as a part-time job on the weekend and some evenings. I have worked with players of all ages and abilities to develop a fantastic understanding of the technical and tactical elements of tennis. I also help players physically and mentally too, and also string rackets too as a part-time passion! Plus I love talking and every session I ensure that you improve that 1% more minimum!

About the lesson

My home base is at Purley on Thames Tennis Club but I am happy to go to a public/rental court to teach/hit too (or your house as well if you have a court there)!

I charge £40 an hour for a 1 to 1 session, £45 an hour for a 2 to 1 session and £50 an hour for a group session (3+ people) if it is at Purley on Thames Tennis Club. If the session is at another location, I will charge £50 an hour still but you will need to book the court (due to travelling fees). If you'd like an online consultation about your game, I charge £30 an hour. If you would like a 'hit' (with 4 balls) I charge £30 an hour. If you'd like a racket re-string, this will be £25, but if you have your own string I charge £15. I also have overgrips for £4 and string dampeners for £2.

My lessons are fun, exciting and tailored to your needs. Using all the previous experience I have gained, I will ensure that you will gain something under my tuition. Balls and court fees are provided at Purley on Thames TC, but only balls will be provided at other locations. I can also provide tennis rackets as well if needed. Furthermore: From Tuesday to Saturday, I am based in South Southampton, so happy to teach at your court in Southampton for £50 an hour, after 5pm.
