About Clair
With more than 11 years of experience as a Piano tutor, I have taught students of all ages, from young children to college learners and working professionals. I believe piano learning should be structured, enjoyable, and tailored to each student’s abilities and goals.
My teaching philosophy focuses on building strong fundamentals, consistent practice, and creative expression. I emphasise proper hand technique, finger coordination, rhythm, sight reading, and music theory. At the same time, I encourage students to explore creativity, musicality, and performance skills. Lessons are explained in simple English with practical exercises, familiar songs, and real-life examples to ensure understanding and progress.
I customise lessons based on the student’s learning pace and objectives. For younger students, lessons are interactive and engaging. For adults and professionals, sessions are goal-oriented, flexible, and efficient. Many of my students have successfully performed in school and college events, passed music exams, and continued piano as a lifelong hobby. Helping students grow musically and personally is the most rewarding aspect of my teaching.

My teaching methodology emphasises compassion, supportiveness, and open communication. I believe students learn best in a positive environment where they feel safe, encouraged, and motivated. In piano lessons, I combine technical instruction with creative exploration, helping students build skills, confidence, and a love for music.
I tailor lessons to each student’s abilities, interests, and goals, breaking down complex concepts into clear steps. I provide detailed demonstrations, constructive feedback, and celebrate every achievement to keep students motivated.
I also teach other relevant subjects using the same supportive, adaptive, and interactive approach. My goal is to help students grow academically and creatively, develop self-confidence, and enjoy a lifelong journey of learning and personal expression.
