About Erin
I am a committed saxophone tutor with over 7 years of experience working with college students. My teaching philosophy is based on patience, clarity, and steady progress. I focus on helping students understand music deeply while enjoying the learning process.
My lessons cover tone quality, breath management, finger technique, rhythm accuracy, and performance preparation. I combine structured exercises with creative activities such as improvisation to keep lessons interesting. Real-life music examples help students connect practice with actual playing.
I use modern teaching tools like recording feedback, structured practice plans, and play-along sessions. Music theory, ear training, and sight-reading are also part of my lessons to support complete musical development.
Whether students aim to perform publicly or play for personal enjoyment, I guide them with consistent support and clear instruction.

My Saxophone teaching methodology is designed to promote clear understanding, creativity, and responsibility. I focus on creating a comfortable learning environment where students feel confident to ask questions. Lessons begin with essential skills such as breath support, tone production, embouchure formation, finger technique, articulation, and reading music.
Creativity is encouraged through improvisation exercises, melody exploration, and learning music from different styles. I act as a mentor by motivating students and guiding them towards consistent improvement. I believe mentorship plays a strong role in building confidence and musical discipline.
Critical thinking is developed by teaching students how rhythm, scales, and musical patterns work together. Accountability is built through structured practice schedules, progress tracking, and regular reviews. In addition to Saxophone, I also teach Music Theory, Sight Reading, Ear Training, and Performance Skills to help students become well-rounded musicians.
