About Nomvelo
My name is Nomvelo Shabala, a young and vibrant lecturer. I love teaching and helping students that are still paving their future.
I have a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting degree, in which I majored in Auditing and Taxation, which I obtained at Wits University. I then obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Taxation at DUT, where I graduated Cum Laude with Dean's Merit for Academic Excellence. I also obtained the First Runner Up position for the program at the institution.
Upon complete my first postgraduate qualification, my love for academics was reignited. I then opted to enroll for a Master of Accountancy in Taxation at UKZN.
I am currently a lecturer at a private tertiary institution, nurturing and cultivating young minds. This is where my love of teaching was sparked. I love engaging with students while ensuring their Commerce lectures are fun and entertaining as they are known to be boring.
I incorporate fun quizzes in my lectures while preparing my own assessments to test the exam readiness of the students.

My lectures are very interactive and fun. I love to apply real-life scenarios in my teaching which assists in the retaining of the information taught.
I incorporate fun quizzes to keep the lectures fun and entertaining, whilst encouraging my students to engage with daily news to get a feel of what their studies look like in the working space.
I enjoy preparing my students for their assessments, as well as equipping them for the application of their modules in the real world. After all, we all study to improve our lives and live in our purpose.
