Hello! I'm Shiela, a dedicated ESL and Mathematics tutor who believes that every student can succeed with the right guidance, encouragement, and learning approach.
I am TESOL-certified and a licensed librarian with years of experience supporting students from diverse educational backgrounds. I also encourage critical thinking, creativity, and independent learning rather than simply memorizing information.
A typical lesson begins with a brief review of previous concepts and a discussion of the learning objectives. I then introduce new material using clear explanations, visual aids, and interactive activities. Throughout the lesson, I check for understanding through questions, guided practice, and short exercises. We conclude by summarizing the key points, addressing any questions, and assigning practice activities or extension tasks to reinforce learning.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my background as a licensed librarian with extensive experience supporting students across different age groups and educational programs, including the International Baccalaureate (IB).
