About Nike
As someone who has been working with young children and adults in education for over 4 years with experience in secondary school settings and experience lecturing in further & higher education, I feel I would be well-suited for this role. When teaching, I decided to take a different approach/ strategy and attempted to connect with the students and gain a deeper understanding of their behaviour and how they learn. I found that this led to many positive student outcomes, such as demotivated students changing their view on my subject and seeking me for help in catching up. A key part of my career is helping students reach their potential, which I work towards by focusing on student learning styles, motivation and engagement when teaching. By doing this I learnt that I have a skill in fostering strong positive relationships with my students and realised have the opportunity to use my empathy for good both inside and outside of the classroom.

My teaching method differs with each student as each student has their own needs and learn at their own pace. For GCSE students I focus on exam questions and past papers in order for the student to gain exam technique.

I have known Nike for a few years now and worked with her at her last school placement before she left to train as a teacher. She was always warm and friendly and the children always seem to like her. I don’t doubt she’ll be an excellent tutor.
