About Laura
I am a current LINC teacher in a Winnipeg adult education center, teaching CLB 1-2 adult students. I have a Bachelor's of Education and a TESL certificate. I love what I do and would like to reach out to more students looking to practice reading/writing. I have taught countless students - from 4 years old to 65 - to read and write using similar approaches I individualize for each student.

I teach to the level and needs of each student. You tell me your goals and I will design the lessons from that.
If reading is your focus, I will read some words with you and find your level to start. From there, we will practice systematic phonics and meaning of important sight words.
If writing is your focus, I will have you copy some letters and words for me to see where it gets hard. If words are easy, it might be word order that we start with. Grammar lessons would be a focus, along with some reading practice to help you spell the words you write correctly.
The lessons are for any students new to reading/writing English. That could be ESL students or K-4 students.
