About Elliot
I am an Economics undergraduate at the University of Surrey with a strong interest in helping students achieve their academic goals. Having achieved an A in A-Level Maths and Economics, B in Further Maths, as well as a Grade 9 in GCSE Maths, I understand the challenges that come with preparing for important exams.
I want to tutor because I enjoy helping others understand topics that they may initially find difficult, just as I did when I was studying for my own exams. As I am still a student myself, I can relate to the pressures of exams and understand the importance of making lessons clear, engaging and approachable.
My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their understanding. I want every student to leave a lesson feeling more confident and better prepared than when they started, while making clear progress towards their personal academic goals.

My lessons are designed to be interactive, structured and tailored to each student’s individual needs. I teach a variety of subjects at GCSE and A-Level, with lessons typically lasting 60 minutes.
First thing that I do is identify any topics that my student finds most challenging and then break them down into simple, easy-to-understand steps. Lessons include clear explanations, worked examples and exam-style questions, giving students the opportunity to apply what they have learnt. I also focus heavily on exam technique, including how to structure answers, show working effectively and maximise marks.
Also I encourage students to ask questions throughout the lesson and adapt my teaching style depending on how they learn best. My aim is not just to help students memorise content, but to develop a strong understanding of the subject and the confidence to tackle unfamiliar questions independently.
