About Vasileios
I am a multi-instrumentalist exploring the folk music of Greece, the Balkan Peninsula, and the wider Mediterranean region. My early years studies included classical piano and byzantine music, while later I studied balkan trumpet and eventually the guitar which became my primary instrument.
I had been performing folk repertoire on stage since 2012.

Folk guitar in the Mediterranean has many aspects. Its primary purpose is being the rhythmical accompaniment of an ensemble, which frequently lacks other percussive elements or a bass.
The lesson will focus on combining basslines with rhythmical playing, but also on ornamentation, folk musical scales, and improvisation. Learning will be facilitated through studying the discography of the relevant repertoire.
