About Brun
I was lucky enough to start playing the saxophone at the age of 10, trained classically, which really gave me a considerable technical advantage but also developed my reading skills.
I began performing in my 20s during the 90s with various line-ups but I was exposed particularly to Blues, Rock, Funk and a little bit of Jazz. Upon moving to Ireland, I put my focus into Jazz and all its intricacies, and have been studying, teaching and performing this music since.
As a performer, through freelance work, I played with many bands in Ireland including Dublin Symphony Orchestra and Westlife. The ability to perform in different styles has always been important for me. Now, I play mainly with legendary Irish band The Stunning, and with my own jazz quintet.
As a teacher, I worked in many music schools around Dublin and was a Jazz Educator for the BA in Jazz Performance at Newpark School of Music until 2017. Now I teach at Waltons New School of Music, and lecture at DCU for the BA in Jazz and Contemporary Music Performance.

Experience taught me that everybody is different, and view/see/feel their involvement in music differently - we all begin our musical journey for different reasons.
My teaching approach is straightforward, based on the tradition, in a classical or jazz context, and follows a rigorous lesson plan regardless of the level you are - this allows a constant gradual progression.
All ages welcome, taking into account that front teeth are important so no less than 8-9 years old.
All lessons are personalized depending on your level and what you are looking for. I recommend the following:
. Beginner, 30-minute lesson
. Intermediate, 45-minute lesson
. Advanced, 1-hour lesson
I have been teaching saxophone in various music schools and at 3rd-level education for over 20 years now, and I continue to develop and improve my methods of teaching.
