About Nicholas J
I took the stage for the first time in elementary school and I was hooked. I've done countless open mics, advanced in multiple standup competitions, performed in front of a capacity crowd at a real speakeasy, told jokes at street fairs, grand prixs, headlined at Pierogi Fest (really!), was hired for album release parties, a wedding reception, and I just love making strangers smile.
I told jokes to a class of adults with developmental disabilities so they could make art inspired by those jokes and hold an exhibition to display them. I coached a young woman with Down Syndrome who was "volunteered" to perform a standup comedy routine at a public group show. It was supposed to be a five minute set, but the Host and crowd enjoyed her and kept her on stage for over fifteen. Both her and her Mother couldn't thank me enough.
I helped run a summer class for kids to make them more confident with writing and public speaking with a focus on comedy.
For a few years now, I've taken a folding chair and a sandwich board sign to various Farmers' Markets to sell jokes for a quarter. I do the same thing at city Flea Markets and have been deemed a "Season Seller", just for telling jokes!
I tell kid jokes and Dad jokes so everyone can enjoy them. By the way, do you know the difference between jokes and Dad jokes? It's apparent.
Recipients of my jokes tell me often that I really made their day and I want to help YOU develop that power. :D
