About Bethany
I come from a family who loves studying languages, including our native tongue: English! I studied Linguistics as my major in university and dabbled in other languages as electives. During that time, I learned what it was like to study and learn a second (or third or fourth!) language and developed some methods to learn new words and grammar easily. Later, I volunteered to teach English to children from disadvantaged backgrounds and loved it so much that I gained a TESOL qualification to teach adults as well as children. I currently tutor English for high school.

For the first lesson, I want to hear your goals for your learning and what you would like to work on. Then I will give you some reading, writing, and conversation tasks. Don't worry! It won't be scary. It's just to gauge how I can help you. Once I know where you want to aim, I will develop some lessons to help you get there! English is so full of history, slippery grammar rules, and interesting idioms (especially in Australia!) and I'd love to help you master this crazy, but useful, language.
