About Leilani
Graduating with a Bachelor of Music in Piano set the foundation for my 10 years of private instruction. My home studio in New York hums with the metallic click of a metronome and the soft resistance of felt keys pressing home. I guide students from age 6 to adulthood through scales, arpeggios, and precise sight transposition.
Supporting those struggling with bad habits remains my primary focus. I work to rewire posture, hand position, and rhythm so that technique becomes second nature. A patient, unhurried atmosphere helps students develop the discipline required for ABRSM or Trinity exams. My focus stays on clear, practical feedback that builds a stable physical connection to the instrument.

Silence remains the most important tool during our first 60 minutes together. Before starting any music, I conduct a diagnostic playing assessment to identify hidden tension or structural weaknesses.
This technical audit forms the backbone of your customized learning plan. We treat complex repertoire as a series of small, manageable mechanical puzzles.
Integrating pop styles with classical technique keeps the process grounded and rhythmic. You will spend time analyzing pedaling technique and ear training to ensure your sound remains consistent. The deep focus on fundamental mechanics makes the process of mastering difficult pieces surprisingly quiet and satisfying. Achieving total control over the keyboard provides a genuine sense of clarity.
