About Lindelwa
I am a student at one of the high ranking Universities which is University of Pretoria. I have my bachelor's degree in Education specialising in Senior and FET phase. Currently I am doing my Honours degree in African languages of which I am also excelling in it. I have experince in teaching through several teaching practices I had before I completed my degree. I am registered under South African Concil of Educators (SACE). In my first teaching practice, my learners got more more than 65% pass rate in class in my first assessment. I like participating in extra mural activities, I have passion in being involved in all the activies where the learners take place in. I do believe that my involvement do make a difference in learners' lives at school and out of school. I have ways of getting to understand learners' teaching backgrounds because that what make me determine the good way of getting suitable teaching strategies for their better understanding of the facilitated content and feel themselves as the existing part of th class. When I was doing my second year of my degree I have learnt that it is very important as a teacher to have loco parenti skills, the skills which I utilise as a teacher of which also makes me a parent to the learners. The loco parenti skills I have allow me to connect with the learners and gain their sense of trust and they as the learners also realised their belong. I do believe that this is what is also needed in tutorial and I believe I can bring it into existance.

I normally like many teaching methodologies either the teacher centred methodologies learner centred methodologies with either low or high technology, preferably with low teachnology because that can accomodate lot of learners and be advantageous because it can be accessed easier and at anytime, that also depends on the lesson or the content I am facilitating at that particular time. But mostly I prefer using teacher centred methodologies because I have huge roles than the learners in teaching and their learning but I do consider that they are also responsible for their own learning. The teacher centred methodologies are as follows: direct instruction with low technology, this is when the content in new to the learners, I use this to enhance their understanding as they are learning new content, they (the learners) listen carefully meaning they require listining skills, note taking for future readings and assessments while I am facilitating the content. The second one is Inquiry-based learning, this methodology can have can either be low technology but most of the time it goes with high technology. I use this as a first way of assessing the learners and get their understanding of the content that has already been covered and discover where they still need help, their performance also determined in this methodology. I also consider the learner-centred methodologies with the aim of making learners be responsible for their own learning and have sense of belonging, in this I consider my supervision as a important action to always take and play the role of being loco parenti.
