About Eloise M
I have been passionate about education and furthermore, pastoral support and connection since I was a school pupil myself. I started working with SEN children at the age of 13 and very quickly developed a deep passion and curiosity for how we communicate with one another - whether that be through language, gestures, facial expressions or other. The centrality of language to our own identities, cultures and understandings of one another as individuals has always inspired me and I felt hugely lucky to deepen this at university. I already have a year of classroom teaching experience whilst I was living abroad in French Guiana and have used this to propel me forwards towards a Masters in Early Years education and then traditional teaching qualifications, especially in language teaching, as I would love to continue my proficiency teaching with every age group. I am currently focused and more experienced in teaching secondary school level years 7-13 but I hope to pass this passion and curiosity for languages onto future students at any age.

My lessons range from a minimum of 30 minutes to 1 hour, and I tutor according to each student's individual needs. The first 5 minutes of every student's first session will be establishing weak spots - we'll have a brief conversation about the curriculum in French and I'll look out for grammar gaps and accent, as well as any problems with listening and understanding. I will also take into account whatever the student tells me they are struggling with. From there I will decide what gaps in knowledge and ability are most vital to achieving higher and target it with intensive immersion, written exercises and working through grammar rules together. Once the student is able to coherently explain the topic/grammar rules to me themselves and use it in conversation we can check it off as a success!
