About Kate
I’m a third generation educator with a real passion for teaching and helping students reach their full potential. Growing up surrounded by teachers, I’ve learned that learning isn’t just about getting the right answer, it’s about feeling supported and challenged along the way. I’m firm but fair, which means I set clear expectations while always making sure students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I truly enjoy exploring new ideas with students and connecting what they’re learning to real-world experiences. With years of experience, I’ve found that the key to success is creating a space where students feel both confident and motivated to keep learning and growing.

I approach tutoring with a focus on making learning feel personal, engaging, and fun. I like to break things down into bite sized pieces, using real life examples and interactive activities to make even tricky concepts easier to understand. My lessons are all about creating a space where students can learn at their own pace, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and build confidence. We usually start with a quick review, dive into new material together, and then I give students time to practice independently, while I’m there to support them along the way. What sets me apart is my ability to connect with students in a way that makes them feel comfortable and motivated. Whether they’re a visual learner, love to talk things out, or need hands on activities to grasp new ideas. I work with younger students (grades 1-5) and middle schoolers (grades 6-8), focusing mainly on reading, writing, and literacy skills, helping them develop both their academic abilities and a real love for learning.
