About Olivia
My priority is for students to reach their goals during sessions, but also that the work done through tutoring translates into their school classes, enabling them to excel and gain greater confidence.
I have been a tutor and mentor previously, both in a classroom setting and virtually, so I am confident in my ability to captivate and engage students. I am also a student currently; the main form of teaching at my university is through 1-to-1 teaching groups, so I know the value of small-scale teaching - what works, and what does not.
I privilege communication and learning what forms of teaching suit each student best.

I make sure to tailor lessons to the priorities of each student, so there is no set formula for sessions (45 mins).
Generally, my lessons seek to supplement a student's overall learning. For French and Spanish, this could therefore be honing a certain grammatical point, or a conversational session to imitate the conditions of a speaking exam.
For students of History, I am happy to advise with written work, essay styles, and approaching exam questions. I am able to provide more focussed lessons on content for early modern British and European History (c.1400-1815).
