About Lucy
Hi, I’m Lucy, an undergraduate at Oxford University studying English Language and Literature. I have previous experience of in-person tutoring children aged 11-18 - Paid tutor experience with 2 students. Was also a tutor during A-levels to children yrs 7-11. I received all 9s at GCSE and A*A*A*A*B at A-level - I can’t wait to help you to achieve the same! Having received A* at A-level and a 9 at GCSE in Fine Art, I have a unique understanding of marking criteria and the skills you need to develop to get your best grade! Art can be a challenging subject since your technical ability must be balanced with your ability to analyse your work and respond creatively to other work. I will work alongside you to help you to develop and strengthen your ideas. Often art students struggle with written components of the course, which, as an English student at Oxford University, I am very equipped to help with! I will also teach you methods to develop your technical skills. I have over 15 years of experience in drawing and painting and regularly attend life drawing to keep my own skills sharp. Sometimes it just takes an extra eye to figure out how to progress with a piece! Holistic approach - working with your child’s needs. Experience with neurodivergence, specifically creating ADHD-friendly lesson plans and homework. This includes teaching how to structure exam time properly, help with study skills such as managing a revision schedule, and helping break down tasks into manageable chunks. Flexible availability - available 7 days a week and will work around your timings. Online sessions 1hr/session, but can be longer if needed, especially leading up to exams. Age Level: GCSE, A-level
