About Patric
I am a professional actor and graduate of Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. I've been acting for 18 years, and have received training at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Northern Illinois University in the Chicago area, and Temple University located in Philadelphia. I have a native General American accent and offer coaching for any actors wanting to improve their accent. Having trained in accents in both the US and UK, I have heard other UK actors trying to learn General American, and have experience in helping them navigate the easy to fall into traps that are unique to UK actors trying to do a convincing General American accent, be it issues in tone, musicality, resonance, vowels and consonants. I offer either in person coaching within the London area or online. Book a free first session so we can have a chat about where you are and what you want to work on!

Lessons are tailored to meet the needs of the individual student. Whether you are starting at square one with the accent, or are looking to work on the accent in front of someone with the native accent to see how well it passes and everything in between. We’ll work in detail, going over the common traps actors from the UK often fall into, tips and tricks for achieving the right musicality, resonance, diction and placement, as well as suggestions to work on the accent on your own. Some of the materials we can use to explore the work include monologues and duologues, as well as worksheets to practise individual sounds, or even talking exclusively in the accent for the duration of the session.

I've known Patric for five years, as we trained together at drama school. During our time there, and living together, I consistently witnessed Patric's incredibly sharp ear and meticulous attention to detail, particularly when it comes to vocal work and accents.
Patric is the kind of collaborator who is deeply invested in the technical aspects of performance, and this rigour extends effortlessly to his understanding of accents. I often saw (and benefited from!) his ability to immediately identify subtle variations, misplaced sounds, or incorrect rhythms and intonation in American accents that many others would miss. Whether it was working on a specific dialect like a Chicago accent for a period piece or simply chatting about the nuances of different regional sounds across the US, Patric's insight was invaluable. He even helped me fine-tune elements of my own American accent work with just a few keen observations.
As a Superprof, I believe Patric would be an exceptional coach. He possesses a wonderful balance of technical knowledge – rooted in the formal phonetics training we received – and a genuinely personable, enthusiastic approach. Working with Patric never feels like a chore; he creates an easy, relaxed atmosphere where learning is enjoyable, often filled with laughter, while still ensuring the work is precise and "on-point." He strikes me as someone who can adapt his teaching style, offering structured sessions when needed, but also comfortable with more informal, insightful discussions tailored to a student's specific goals.
I wholeheartedly recommend Patric to anyone looking to master an American accent. His combination of a highly analytical ear, formal training, boundless enthusiasm, and warm, collaborative spirit makes him perfectly equipped to help you achieve accuracy and confidence in your performance.Patric is a talented actor with training from both the UK and the US. He is a kind and friendly face and a great guide to help you with your acting journey. I can’t recommend him enough!
