About Rachel
I’m currently a Trainee Clinical Psychologist and have several years of experience studying and working within psychology. Before starting my doctorate, I worked in applied psychology roles supporting people with a range of mental health difficulties, which has given me lots of experience in explaining psychological ideas clearly and adapting how I communicate depending on the person in front of me.
I know that Psychology can be a really interesting subject, but also a very demanding one. There can be a lot to juggle between theory, research methods, essays, exams and deadlines, so I try to create a space where students feel comfortable asking questions and saying when something just isn’t making sense.
I’m approachable, patient and genuinely enjoy helping people build confidence in their own abilities. I’m also very organised and reliable, and I take a professional approach to tutoring while still keeping sessions relaxed and easy to engage with.
Alongside subject-specific tutoring, I’m happy to support students who benefit from a bit more structure, accountability and encouragement with their studies.

My tutoring style is friendly, relaxed and tailored to what you actually need help with. Psychology can get really overwhelming when you’re trying to juggle loads of different theories, research, essays and deadlines, so I like to break things down and make them feel a bit more manageable.
In lessons, we can go over topics you’re struggling with, work through exam questions, look at essay structure, practise critical evaluation, or focus on research methods. I try not to just talk at you for an hour — I’d rather make sessions interactive and work things through together so you leave actually understanding it.
I can also offer more of a mentoring role if that would be helpful. Some students don’t necessarily need someone to teach them the content, but do need a bit of accountability, structure and support with studying. I can help with things like setting realistic goals, breaking assignments or revision into smaller steps, making study plans and keeping you on track.
Lessons are usually around an hour, but I’m happy to be flexible depending on what works best for you.
I’m currently a 2nd Year Trainee Clinical Psychologist and have previous experience working in applied psychology roles. Through my training and work, I’ve gained experience in psychological theory, research methods, critical thinking and explaining complicated ideas in a way that feels easier to understand.
My lessons are mainly aimed at A-Level Psychology students and undergraduate Psychology students. I can help with revision, exam technique, essay planning, research methods, qualitative research, critical evaluation, dissertation or research-project support, and general study skills.
For university work, I’m very happy to help you plan, understand feedback, improve your structure and develop your academic skills, but I won’t write assessed work for you.
