About Adam
I grew up in East London and have been pursuing music from the age of 7. I attended Julian Joseph’s Jazz Academy every Saturday for 9 years which is where I embarked upon my Jazz training. Some of the projects I have been involved with include playing at festivals (such as Greenman and Bluedot) with the artist Kathleen Frances, playing at electric Brixton with Bartika, composing music for and leading Hoos Collective who gig regularly in London and teaching at World Heartbeat Music Academy in South West London where I taught piano in a group context to students of varying ability and age.
Aside from all of this I was fortunate enough to have some amazing mentors growing up and truly believe that with the right kind of encouragement, anyone can learn to play and enjoy music.

I find a tailored approach works best for each of my students and try to encourage them to find their own unique voice within the genre that interests them most. I specialise in jazz but have experience in pop, funk, soul and latin. I am a big advocate of learning by ear however I also teach sight reading and theory.
Lessons are typically broken up into segments comprising of scales, exercises, ear training and learning tunes however it is entirely dependent on what each students goal is and ultimately what they enjoy the most.
I have taught a wide range of people including teaching in a special educational needs school. I also teach people of all different ages and from beginner to advanced. Depending on the distance, I can teach from half an our to an hour.
