About Alex
Alex is a very experienced professional musician and educator. Starting out at the age of 8 at Chetham's School of Music, he went on to play in every major UK youth orchestra, including :- National Children's Orchestra, National Youth Orchestra, European Union Youth Orchestra. Alex then went on to study for his Undergraduate Degree at the Royal Academy of Music, followed by a Masters Degree at the Royal College of Music, where he achieved a First Class Degree with Distinction.
Alex is a successful freelance musician having worked with the vast majority of the UK's Professional Orchestras, including :- London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Halle Orchestra, Opera North, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra to name but a few.
A keen educator, Alex enjoys helping students of all ages get the most out of learning an instrument. Wether that be studying for graded exams, preparing for performances and auditions, or playing simply for enjoyment. With almost a decade of teaching experience ranging from complete beginners to music college students , Alex can tailor teaching to suite anyone.
With professional experience in Classical, Jazz, West End Musicals, Special Needs Education, Group Workshops, Contemporary, and others, Alex will be able to help you in whatever you set out to achieve.

I’ve been learning Trombone with Alex for just over three years and have really enjoyed my lessons with him.
