About Evie
I didn’t have a great experience at school. I was often “that” student — disruptive, regularly removed from lessons, and struggling to engage with the curriculum. I found the school environment challenging and often felt like I was in trouble simply for not understanding.
I didn’t achieve the grades needed to go straight to university, leaving school with five GCSEs, including one fail. I initially applied for a foundation course, but after reading my personal statement, the university offered me a place on the full degree programme.
From there, everything changed. I went on to be awarded a scholarship from the University of Hull and later completed my MSc, focusing on the migratory challenges of European eels.
This journey shapes how I teach today. I understand what it feels like to struggle, to lack confidence, and to feel left behind — which is why I’m passionate about helping students learn in a way that works for them.

Is your child struggling with confidence or finding certain subjects challenging?
I offer personalised 1:1 online tutoring in science, as well as KS2 and KS3 English, maths, and Functional Skills, focused on building confidence, closing knowledge gaps, and helping students achieve real, lasting progress.
With an MSc in Biological Research and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS, 2020), I bring both classroom experience and real-world knowledge to every lesson. My background in environmental research—alongside my own arthropod collection—allows me to make learning engaging, relevant, and easier to understand.
Every lesson is tailored to your child’s individual needs. I create a calm, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning at their own pace. This not only improves results but helps students develop independence and self-belief.
I take a professional, student-centred approach, adapting my teaching to suit how your child learns best. Rather than pressure, I focus on steady progress and building strong foundations for long-term success.
Availability: Monday (1:30–7:00 pm), Tuesday (5:00–7:00 pm), Friday (1:30–5:00 pm), plus school holidays. Lessons start from one hour.
