About Laetisha
I worked with 12 year 6 students in Birmingham as a mentor during my University placement for a year. I helped them with preparation for their SATs exams. To do this I worked with them 1 on 1 in the classroom alongside their teachers, picking out the areas that the students were struggling with the most and making sure that I tailored my activities after school in those subjects that the children were having difficulties with. With my after school help and 1 to 1 support during the lesson, all the children that I mentored achieved amazing results in their exams and they felt more confident to start secondary school.

I am excited to help students from as young as Year 6 (around 10 yrs old) to Undergraduate students who may be struggling with preparation for their assignments or exams.
Lessons will be broken down in session, targeting all the topics that the students needs the most help with and making sure that we are creating a way of learning that works for that specific student. For example creating power points with the key things learnt in a session, learning cards, revision highlight points , learning objectives at the start of the session as well as a clear structured summary at the end, highlighting all the important points from the lesson.
I also make sure that with every student, there are realistic goals set for every session e.g. aim to write at least 1 paragraph after our lesson or a task that aids understanding in whatever the student is trying to achieve.
