About Joshua

Hi, I'm a UCD MSc Information Systems graduate working at Mastercard in Dublin. I have a genuine love for computers and programming that goes back to childhood, where I spent my time solving coding problems and exploring how technology works.

Teaching runs in my family. My mother is a teacher and I inherited that same passion for helping others learn and grow.
I created this profile because I genuinely want people to stop being afraid of programming. Too many people think coding is not for them, and I want to change that.

"In the age of AI, anyone can code. But the ones who truly succeed are those with strong fundamentals. That's what I'm here to build with you."
My goal is simple. Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to level up, I want to make programming feel accessible, logical and even enjoyable.

The fundamentals are everything and I will make sure you have them.

About the lesson

My lessons combine theory and practical work in every session, tailored to each student's learning pace and ability. Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to sharpen existing skills, I adapt to where you are.

Lessons are typically one hour. I can provide mock tests, coding challenges and LeetCode style questions for those preparing for technical interviews. I can also help with understanding data structures and algorithms.

My sessions are open to all ages and levels, from students writing their first line of code to professionals preparing for job interviews. I hold an MSc in Information Systems from UCD and work as a software engineer at Mastercard in Dublin.

I can’t recommend Joshua enough!
He is very patient and has a gift for explaining topics in a way that just clicks. I used to struggle with the basics, but his explanations made everything feel simple. It was a blessing to be taught by him, and I feel so much more confident in my coding now. I had started with Python and he also taught me Java, and now I feel like I can learn more languages and concepts with ease.

If you want to master the fundamentals, Joshua is the teacher to go to!

I highly recommend Joshua Pereira as a computer programming tutor. He taught me Python, Java, and C++, and explained each concept in a clear, structured way that made it much easier to understand and apply.

He is especially good at teaching SQL and data structures, taking the time to ensure I understood the logic behind each topic. His patient and focused approach made learning more effective and gave me confidence in my programming skills.
