About Jasmine
I am a second-year undergraduate at the University of Manchester studying Economics. Tutoring is massively important to me as I wholeheartedly believe the difference between excelling at a subject or not often correlates to how enjoyable a subject is to you.
Through my time in the education system, I've experienced many teachers- some who are passionate about their work, and, others who didn't share the same degree of enthusiasm. In my experience, those teachers who were passionate about their subject managed to create a far more fulfilling and engaging atmosphere, translating into better performances for students. This is my goal as a tutor.

Initially, I believe it's vital to engage in a discussion with prospective students to determine their exam board. This is necessary in tailoring teaching for students as whilst different exam boards often cover different topics, the weighted marks in exams are also different. This is important in directing areas of focus in order to attain the highest possible marks. Additionally, a prior discussion with prospective students is necessary in gauging their current level of knowledge in the subject and determining focus areas.
The correlation between enjoying a subject and excelling in said subject cannot be disputed which is why I ensure my tutoring sessions are as engaging and enjoyable as possible. As a tutor, I hope to ignite passion for English Lit/Lang/Economics in my students as I do believe passion=performance.
My teaching methodology is based upon Spaced Repetition System (SRS), whereby information is taught/learnt, then recalled number of times at later dates (with the time distance between recollection increasing each time). This is one of the most effective methods of retaining information to the long-term memory, and, thus, an invaluable study technique for students.
