About Quinn
I am currently working on my BFA in Music Composition and Performance with plans to get my PhD in Ethnomusicology after. I’ve been passionate about music all my life. I’ve been singing and dancing since I could walk and talk, started playing trumpet when I was 11 and picked up other instruments like French horn and saxophone in high school. I love teaching and would love to become an educator someday if that’s where my path leads in addition to writing and performing music. My goal is to not just fill my students' heads with information but to build their confidence as a musician which builds a foundation of self-assurance that will carry over into every aspect of their lives. I have a lot of experience on stage and know what it takes to make a great performer. It takes discipline but most importantly you gotta enjoy what you’re doing. So let’s rock out and let the good times roll!

I believe music should be fun. So I like to keep my lessons light and relatable. I also believe in practice makes permanent. Perfect practice makes perfect. So yes we will have a good time but we will be diligent, disciplined and determined. I like to achieve this by treating a lesson like a well-balanced meal. The fundamentals and more academic work like the protein and veggies. Then I like to supplement with pop songs and or movie soundtracks as a dessert that diversifies the lessons and keeps things fresh as something to look forward to after the initial work that may be less fun per se. Overall I like to work very hard and achieve a high standard but keep a positive and whimsical attitude.
