About August
Hey! My name is August. I’m 19 years old and currently in my second year of undergraduate studies in music performance (voice). I got into tutoring a couple of months ago and it’s been really great working with students. It’s so frustrating when you have all the pieces to something but you just can’t put it together in your head. I’ve been there too! I think it’s important to learn in a style specific to yourself and having a tutor can really help you find what helps and what doesn’t. If you are looking for some help (especially if you are taking the AP music theory exam!!), feel free to reach out to me so we can see if I’m a good fit.

For me, a typical first lesson is all about getting to know the student and how they learn as well as what they know already. High school was only a couple of years ago for me, so a lot of the skills I teach are still fresh in my head and it makes it easy to explain concepts in a way that makes sense. Also, as an undergraduate I’m pretty flexible to different pay rates. If you are on a budget, I might be a good option.
