About Delaney
Linguistics, grammar, writing... these subjects have shaped my interests and my endeavors. I am a college student majoring in computer graphics and website design and work for the college as a writing tutor.
I've found my status as a student to be extremely helpful because it means that I am up-to-date on the rules and expectations of academic writing. I am also familiar with the current standardized testing formats, specifically the ACT.
I am here to answer my students' questions and provide feedback. I will diagram sentences, edit papers, provide testing strategies, and more.

Each students learns differently. What I've found helpful is to give students the space to share their needs, goals, and skill level. From there we will discuss strategy as a team.
A student struggling with general grammar likely lacks a comprehensive understanding of the structure that creates a sentence. Breaking down and explaining the fundamental building blocks will create usable knowledge, whereas memorizing arbitrary rules creates temporary results.
I focus on high school and early college students.
