About Samen
Having me as your tutor will ensure you success in your math classes and boost your chances of getting into your dream colleges. When the college application process rolled around, I was very nervous, as I didn't have much help with my application. I initially did Early Decision to Columbia, where I got deferred then rejected. Later I did Early Decision 2 to NYU, where I also got rejected. However, I kept trying, seeing where I went wrong, and continued applying to more schools into regular decision. I eventually received a likely letter from Cornell and later accepted to Brown, Carnegie Mellon, and UPenn, amongst other good schools. I committed to Penn and ever since then, I have been trying to help others with this stressful, but worthwhile process. Understanding basic ideas about building your profile will go a long way beyond just college apps, and I am here to maximize your success.

I am very flexible with schedules, as the students can reach out to me anytime for any necessary help. Usually, I will conduct lessons throughout the week for an hour or two hours, depending on the depth of the content. I will first introduce the material and then practice questions on the lessons, and then give them small assignments to do to review for the next lesson. For college help, my philosophy is molding a consistent, foundational theme with the applicant through firstly filtering the college list, then extracurriculars and explaining any additional details, supplements, the personal statement, and then any other scholarship and extra information needed for the application. My flexibility and understanding of many different concepts, whether it is STEM or colleges, makes me a valuable tutor for your situations. The lessons are for high school students (Grades 9 - 12) and anyone who need help with their college applications.
