About Jamie
I am an aspiring undergraduate student studying English language and linguistics with the hopes of becoming a teacher one day in the future. What kickstarted this passion for me was the sense of achievement you feel knowing you have helped someone become more confident in an area they once struggled with, helping propel them for future adventures. During my GCSEs, I received tutoring for areas in English that I found particularly challenging. Knowing the extent to which my tutoring raised my confidence, I aspire to give others the support that I once received. Having previously tutored GCSE students during my A-levels and feeling a mass sense of accomplishment on both ends, I only look forward to helping more people achieve their goals for the future with the ultimate goal being to teach abroad!

My approach to teaching is tackling the glaring weaknesses in the students abilities and moving upwards from there. I will encourage my students to talk to me about what they have learnt recently and whether they are struggling with any of the content. Similarly, I will ask about past content they have covered and how they have found it. If found difficult, I will help improve their confidence in said topic and solidify their knowledge to the best of my ability by using revisionary methods that work for them or by exploring new techniques.
Typical length of a session would range from 45 minutes to 1 hour but this is entirely flexible.
Experience teaching GCSE students face to face for a year during my A-levels.
My lessons are for GCSE students in years 9-11
