About Neythen
As demonstrated by my academic and research history I have an excellent understanding of the subjects that I teach (Science and Maths) and the assessment processes involved, both of which are required to help a student achieve the best grades possible. Working as a private tutor over the last five years I have taught students with a wide range of backgrounds and learning styles and learned how to enable them to reach their full potential. One thing that I am proud of is that my students often choose to stay with me for two or three years, so I figure I must be doing something right! I am extremely passionate about education and helping my students achieve success is something that always gives me great satisfaction. I have 5 years of experience in one on one tutoring, both in person and online, first as a volunteer tutor for the UCL academy and now as a private tutor. During my time with one on one tutoring I have specialised in Maths, Science and Computing with students at secondary school, GCSE and A-level. I also have had experience teaching in a classroom setting, working at both a primary school and a private tuition centre, teaching 11+, 13+ and CGSE maths.
I am a University College London (UCL) graduate with a bachelors degree in Natural sciences (with a specialisation in Physics and Molecular Biology) and a masters degree in Scientific Computing. I am currently a PhD student at UCL undertaking research in computational Biology.
I strongly believe in an understanding based approach to learning, as apposed to just learning facts. This builds a much more intuitive appreciation of the subject, imparting academic skills that will help with future learning and later life. This is backed up with regular exam technique practice, to ensure the best results are achieved.
I believe that my passion for the subjects I tutor, my educational background and my hundreds of hours of experience across a wide variety of teaching environments make me well equipped to ensure any student reaches their full potential. Perfect! Excellent Maths tutor
Neythen tutored my son for 3 years. He was extremely reliable, rarely had to cancel and in the event of not being able to do the tutoring during the week made up for it over the weekend.
My son loved his lessons with Neythen and even though Math is a tough subject they managed to have fun. He got very good results in exams and generally got a better understanding of Maths altogether. Thank you Neythen!

Being a ucl uni student Neythen has good subject knowledge and very good mathematical ability. His comprehension of problems is also as good as you'd expect from a ucl student and so, when working through difficult questions, you'll find he explains the solutions very well.
Sessions with Neythen are also very efficient, we always get through lots of material.
Finally, when asked questions that reside outside of the syllabus, when he doesn't know the answer he provides insightful speculations to help me get my mind across the topic rather than give incorrect information.View more recommendations
