About Rayne
Hello, nice to meet you. I'm Rayne. Teaching lights me up. I am thrilled to see my students feel competent and confident when they learn difficult things or break through a learning slump. I studied English and Religious Studies at the University of Cape Town to become a writer/publisher. I accidentally found online teaching and I was hooked. I have more than 5 years experience teaching English online to foreign students, and I am confident I can take your English writing and verbal communication to a level where you can effectively negotiate and liaison with your customers, boss, colleagues in a way that demands respect and sings professionalism. New opportunities will open to you if you improve your written and verbal communication skills and I can absolutely get you there fast.

I believe people feel better when they feel competent. Learning a skill makes your life easier, in ways we don't always understand. The goal is perfect English, and I can get you there. Just show up, and the rest is fun. Learning is fun. It has to be. I grew up feeling terrified of my teachers, but once I went to university I learned so much faster when I felt calm, safe and playful. This shaped my teaching philosophy.
If perfect English is our goal, and fun is our transport there, then ultimately the lessons need to be interesting to your unique self. I thrive on learning new things to package them for my students. I've stayed up many nights learning about the world's best trains , different species of jellyfish, new agricultural technology. Specialised lessons in what interests you is what you can expect from my lessons.
I have also created an extensive Business English curriculum that will function as the base of our lessons. It's got highly valuable workplace content which will help you navigate the corporate world.
I am also highly skilled in teaching general English, if perfecting your business English is not the level you are hunting for yet. I am what is called a skilled "language parent" who will not correct your mistakes, but gently repeat the correct way to say the sentence after you are finished.
Proficient English is easy to learn, you just need to show up and give it some of your time every day. I can hold your hand for the journey. It will dramatically improve your career in ways you might not have considered yet. Let the journey begin!
