About Lewis George

About me

I am a University of Edinburgh Geography graduate with a strong academic background and a practical interest in how physical and human geography connect to the real world.

I specialise in helping students improve their exam performance through clear explanation, structured revision, and exam-focused techniques rather than just content memorisation.

My approach is especially effective for students who understand the material but struggle to turn knowledge into high-mark answers.

About the lesson

I offer tutoring for:

Higher Geography
National 5 Geography
GCSE Geography (AQA / Edexcel / OCR)
A-Level Geography (all major exam boards)
Exam technique and mark scheme training
Essay structure and 6/9/12/20-mark questions
Case study memorisation strategies
NEA / coursework support (A-Level)
My teaching style

My sessions are structured, calm, and focused on results.

I focus on:

Breaking down mark schemes so students understand exactly what examiners want
Teaching clear essay structures that consistently gain marks
Improving case study recall using simple memory systems
Practising exam questions with detailed feedback
Building confidence ahead of exams

Students often know the content already—they just need help converting it into marks. That is where I focus most of my teaching.

Who I work best with

I work best with students who are:

Preparing for GCSE or A-Level exams
Looking to improve grades from a 4–6 up to a 6–8 (GCSE) or B–A (A-Level)
Willing to practise exam questions between sessions
Looking for structured, exam-focused support
Lesson format

Lessons are flexible and can be online or in person (if local).

A typical session includes:

Quick review of key content
Focused teaching on one topic or skill
Exam question practice
Feedback using mark schemes
Clear targets for improvement
Availability

I am flexible with evenings and weekends.
