About Sophie
My name is Sophie, a university lecturer with a clinical background as a dietitian working in the NHS, and PhD in human physiology and metabolism. I have several years of experience in tutoring and teaching students, and am currently undertaking a postgraduate certificate in teaching in academic practice, leading to registration as a fellow of the higher education academy.

Alongside my university teaching, I also provide tutoring in biology, drawing on my scientific background to make complex concepts clear, engaging, and relevant. My approach combines academic rigour with practical application — encouraging students to think critically, apply knowledge, and develop confidence in their learning. Whether supporting coursework or exam preparation, I tailor each session to individual learning needs, ensuring students not only improve their understanding but also their ability to communicate science effectively.
