About Ariana
Hello! My name is Ariana. I'm a university student who happens to love reading and writing, and I major in a program that focuses on that exact thing. I can offer you help with reading and writing skills, but I can offer a lot more - I grew up overseas, so my understanding of the humanities is expansive and global. AKA, I know a lot about the world and have many experiences that I fall back on to help me fuel my creativity and legitimacy as a writer.

I'm qualified to work with students on reading comprehension, cohesion of writing in argumentative/explanatory essays, devising ideas for creative writing, vocabulary expansion, etc,. As a tutor, I'm very patient with students and want you to succeed. I don't want to give you ideas or do the writing for you, but rather assist you in becoming your most creative, skilled self. I pay great attention to detail, I'm a good listener, and will tutor you at whatever pace is most comfortable for YOU.
Depending on what you hope to get out of our tutoring, we can work on creative ideation, cutting/increasing word count, advancing arguments/theses, and making our writing make sense! I'm looking to work for students in middle school/high school. We can play it by ear or I can create lesson plans before that you can approve prior to the session.
I tutor over Zoom and have very flexible hours. My minimum is one hour and my maximum is two hours. As much as I'd love to have unlimited time for my students, I'm a student too! If you need to use a different online platform, I am open to making an arrangement for this.
My qualifications to be your tutor are as follows: I was the Vice-President of the National English Honor Society at my high school, I used to manage a writing publication website that received submissions from over 20 countries, I won the English Excellence Award at my high school, and I've taken numerous AP writing-related courses such as AP English Language, AP Seminar, and AP Research, all of which I received a 4 or 5 on the exam. I'm also majoring in a reading-writing heavy program at my university. Honorary mention: all of my friends come to me for reading/writing related advice!
