About Ellie
I'm a 2nd-year Spanish and Business Management student at the University of Reading and have lived in the UK for the past 13 years since moving here from Bulgaria. I can fluently speak English and Bulgarian and advanced Spanish. I currently volunteer at a local school in Reading where I help children who are learning English as a second language by teaching them grammar, spelling, reading, speaking, and grammar. When it comes to teaching children I always try and make the lessons as fun and interactive as possible by playing vocabulary games and reading stories. I am also happy to teach adults and can tailor each lesson to the individual's needs. Whether you're an adult looking to learn or improve your Bulgarian or you have children who need that extra bit of language support I'd be more than happy to help!

When teaching young children my teaching method is always based on having fun while learning as I find that children stay engaged and focused for longer when they're enjoying learning. Instead of making the children do boring and repetitive tasks like writing out the same word or the alphabet over and over, I'll engage them in vocabulary games like drawing out words or using flashcards. If we're learning the alphabet then we can use letter magnets and practice arranging them in the correct way or spelling words out. For older children, I'll still aim to make the lessons fun and interactive by using flashcards or doing exercise sheets.
For adult learners, I'll make sure that each lesson is specifically tailored to the individual's needs. Whether you're an adult learner wanting to improve your work vocabulary so you can communicate better with colleagues or wanting to focus on daily conversations so you can have better conversations with people, I'll make sure that each lesson is focused on what's important to you.
