About Evander
Hi everybody! I am an Assistant Building Manager at the University of Sydney and have been in this role for 5 years. I was never a strong learner in the typical setting of a classroom but I did not let that sway me. I wasn't fortunate enough to have a tutor of my own and I wanted to give my younger siblings the support I wasn't able to receive. I hope I can do the same for you!
For the Tough Learners:
Not every students ideal learning space is a classroom or even face to face learning and that could be for many different reasons. If you feel as if online is something that can lead to confidence in learning, I am here for you!
For those with a Language Barrier:
I am Polynesian raised in Australia. It is common for Polynesian households to be bilingual however I was also fortunate enough to be exposed to many beautiful cultures and heritage growing up which lead me to my interest in linguistics. With the combination of parents who have English as a second language, and my passion for language learning, I can help you build the bridge between the gifts of language you understand.
For the Aspiring Athletes:
From the age of 8 to 18, I was training to be an athlete as a career, even attending a sports high school to pursue the dream. When I look back at the schedule I kept in order to chase this ambition, I find it hard to believe that I did that. In saying that, I know how it feels to feel stretched thin when it comes to your sporting commitments whilst trying to keep up with school work. We can work together to ensure that your able to succeed academically without hindering your strive to be an athlete.

About the lesson

Lessons will be catered specifically to your current level with a common goal to strive towards whether that is reading and pronunciation or HSC writing essays/ exams and everything in between.
60 mins (ideally) per lesson. This is typically broken into extensive explanation and further understanding or exercise which can be somewhat difficult in a classroom environment. To put it into perspective 60 mins in a classroom vs 60 mins 1on1 is like night and day (very different!)
4 years experience tutoring my sister (9-13 years old) who is currently abroad. With her return unknown at this point in time, I'd like to continue tutoring!
There is no ability level nor age that isn't out of my scope. However, if you are:
- Somebody who struggles in a classroom setting
- You struggle with a language barrier
- An aspiring athlete and struggling to keep up with school work
I believe I will be able to assist you in your learning curves!
