About Gabriel
I am a languages student at a top university studying French, Italian and Chinese. I also have an A-level in Italian which I learnt through independent studying, so I have a deep understanding of language learning techniques and how to learn languages from a native English linguistic viewpoint. I have taught English to ESL students and helped with GCSE lessons when I was in sixth form. I was also part of the first cohort to do the new specification French, so I understand that exams and workload have increased.

Italian
There is no specific methodology to go through at GCSE, as very student has different needs. Some may require simple practice with someone who understands the errors most commonly made by native English speakers whereas others may not understand how to structure an essay in French. Some may have vocabulary issues or problems with specific areas of grammar such as the subjunctive or with verb constructions. By explaining the rules, giving an example, then doing a range of activities with the student working both independently and guided, the student learns the information, sees a model of how to use it then gets the chance to practise with help at first, and then solo, as it will be in the exam.
