About Siona
With over ten years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in Classical Voice, I bring both expertise and enthusiasm to every lesson. My passion for ear training, harmony, and melody shapes the way I teach, helping students hear music deeply and sing with intention. I work with a wide variety of styles—classical, pop, jazz, blues, and even movie singing—so every learner can explore the music they love while building a strong foundation. My lessons combine vocal training, theory, sight singing, and performance techniques, giving students the skills to grow as complete musicians. I enjoy teaching school students discovering their voices, college learners refining their craft, and aspiring professionals preparing for the stage. My singing approach is designed to help serious learners prepare for auditions and build a strong, versatile vocal portfolio. I focus on smart song selection strategies that highlight each singer’s strengths while pushing their range and expression. Vocal tone matching is a key part of my lessons—we work on shaping sound for different genres, from classical to contemporary, ensuring students can adapt easily. Controlled dynamics are practised through targeted exercises that train singers to move seamlessly between soft, powerful, and nuanced deliveries. Both dedicated music students and classically trained learners benefit from vocal agility drills that strengthen flexibility and precision. I also incorporate mock auditions to build confidence, reduce performance anxiety, and simulate real-world conditions. Genre diversity is central to my teaching, exposing students to styles like jazz, pop, and musical theatre to broaden their artistic identity. To support daily practice, I recommend using backing track apps for accompaniment, lyric trainers for memorisation, and pitch analysers for accurate feedback. Each lesson blends discipline with creativity, ensuring students develop technical mastery while staying inspired.
