About Colston
A graduate of the Thornton School of Music, Colston has been working in music education for 5+ years directing ensembles, tutoring, and working in administration. His organization combined with his true passion for music make him an effective educator.
Colston grew up in the Ragazzi Boys Chorus of the SF Peninsula and first learned theory using the Monarch books.
Colston currently works at Kaufman Music Center in NYC and sings professionally in Manhattan.

The Monarch Theory Program consists of a series of 12 colored books that begin at the very basics and work their way up to the beginning of chromatic harmony.
For each session, your child will prepare a set of pages from a book. We will briefly correct the worksheets together and then move on to the lesson where we will discuss the material in the worksheets in greater detail. Afterward, we will work on the aural skills that complement the material learned.
These lessons are great for students aged 6-14 who are ready to start a musical journey and progress through the Monarch theory books.
