About Shehana
Hi, I’m Shehana—a passionate and supportive English tutor who understands the student journey because I’ve walked it myself. With years of experience teaching across the UK and US, I bring energy, empathy, and academic expertise to every lesson. I graduated from a top liberal arts college in the United States as a Fulbright Scholar, where I majored in Political Science and Music Production. My academic journey has given me a deep appreciation for the power of clear communication and strong writing—skills I love helping my students develop. I’ve worked with learners of all ages, from primary school through to university level, supporting everything from foundational literacy to advanced essay writing and literary analysis. I’m passionate about creating a calm, encouraging learning space where students feel confident to ask questions, challenge themselves, and grow. With a strong track record of helping students achieve academic success, I tailor every lesson to individual goals, learning styles, and long-term progress.

As a tutor, I believe in creating a supportive and student-led learning environment where curiosity is encouraged and confidence can grow. My lessons are tailored to each student’s individual needs—whether they’re mastering basic grammar, tackling complex literary texts, or preparing for GCSEs, A-Levels, or university writing. I use a mix of discussion-based learning, creative exercises, and structured planning techniques to help students deepen their understanding and express themselves clearly. With several years of tutoring experience in both the UK and US, I bring a flexible, international perspective to each session.
